Reservation in Jobs:

 The reservation system is also followed in Government jobs and it leads to similar situations of OBCs getting larger share of ‘open category ‘ seats other than quota available to them.

For instance from the list of candidates selected for the post of Junior Telecom Officers in BSNL under Tamilnadu Telecom Circle, using GATE Score, nearly 30 OBC candidates have ‘got” into the  49 seats [ non-quota] meant for OC, apart from the 25 exclusively reserved for them (OBC) . The OBC get 55 seats against the 25 reserved for them, whereas the actual OC candidates are left with just 19 out of 49.

This is because there is no set-off of OBC selected under open or merit quota.
